Twenty-three years after the world's largest battleship sank, three letters came home.

On April 7, 1945, the battleship Yamato went down off Okinawa. She was 65,000 tons, the largest warship ever built. Nearly 2,700 of her crew went with her. The war ended four months later. In 1968, a widow named Keiko Saito receives a small package from a naval archive in Kagoshima. Inside are three letters her husband mailed in the days before Yamato sailed. They never reached her. She had wondered about him for twenty-three years without knowing what he wrote. She reads them now. So does the reader. The boys he bunked with, sixteen years old some of them. The sake cup that shattered before the ceremony. The order that came at dawn on April 6th. A 72-page graphic novel based on the true story of Operation Ten-Go.
