Who pays customs and import duties?

TL;DR: customs and import duties are paid by the buyer on delivery. The amount depends on your country.

Full explanation

Our pledge prices and shipping rates do not include customs fees, import duties or import VAT charged by your country. If your country charges them, the carrier or your national post will ask you to pay when the parcel arrives, before they hand it over.

How much you pay depends on your country's rules, the declared value of the order and the type of item. We can't calculate it for you in advance, and we can't pay it on your behalf. Your local customs office or the carrier's website is the best place to check current rates.

If you refuse to pay the duties, the parcel is usually returned to us, and the return shipping cost may be deducted from any refund.
