I loved comics since high school, but I abandoned them when I went to college. My life started falling apart: failures in academics, problems from all sides, and fear of the future. I became an empty shell, hating my field of study, and each day was a struggle. I realized this wasn't my place, so I resigned from the university. During my break, I started making comics on Instagram. But that didn’t pay the bills, so I took a job as a marketing specialist at a property development company. We gave it our best, but it didn’t work out. I got laid off. Jobs are scarce, and vacancies are few. I realized that without connections, it’s a losing battle. I decided not to apply for office jobs — I didn’t want to become an office zombie. But I needed money. My ideals clashed with reality. Then I remembered a quote from Pandji Pragiwaksono: Never kill your dream, because it never truly dies; it only faints and will come back to you in old age as regret.
